Marit de Jong | BVSc, BSc
April 4, 2014
After finishing her veterinary degree at Massey University and starting her veterinary career at the end of 2005 Marit has worked in mixed animal practices in Taranaki and Raetihi. She has since seen the light and in 2010 moved to Matamata to join the team at MVS.
Her interests lie in small animal surgery and medicine, finding great satisfaction in trying to solve the diagnostic puzzles that animals often present. Working through the puzzle and putting the pieces together to come up with an answer is a real challenge on occasion and this is what keeps the job interesting.
Marit is the proud owner of a destructive Thai Ridgeback puppy Zeeva and a feisty tortoiseshell called Meah. Meah would argue that she owns Marit rather than other way around.
When not at work Marit enjoys baking up a storm with the help of her two preschoolers, or getting out and about.
Marit left the MVS team in April 2017 to be closer to family in the Hawkes Bay.
