Dr Reto Fritsche – Reproduction Specialist

Dr Reto Fritsche joined our reproduction team in 2015 while Dr Fiona Hollinshead was on maternity leave.

Dr Fritsche completed his veterinary degree at The University of Bern, Switzerland and soon afterwards was awarded a Doctorate in small animal reproduction from the University of Zurich.

Dr Fritsche was a clinical resident at the Veterinary School, Louisiana State University (LSU), USA where he mastered the technique of TCI as well as gaining extensive experience in semen freezing and the breeding management of bitches.

It was during his training program at LSU that Dr Fritsche met GlenBred’s own specialist, Dr Fiona Hollinshead while she was on sabbatical as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Reproduction in 2013. Fiona was also one of Dr Fritsche’s supervisors for his Masters Program in small animal reproduction where he investigated the effects of canine prostatic fluid on chilled semen and was awarded a Master’s Degree for his thesis from LSU in 2016.

Dr Fritsche now works as a reproduction specialist in a private practice in Texas, USA.
